Will the rain ever stop?
With the spring comes the rain!
Lake Okanagan level has gone up 5 inches in the last 24 hours and the weather people are predicting another 18 inches in the next 24 hours with severe thunderstorms heading this way. The PYC MMC put out the emergency sandbagging call Wed. May 10th to the membership and close to 40 people came to help. Both the PYC and MMC boards deeply appreciate all your hard work and are waiting patiently and keeping our fingers crossed that the Rusty Anchor will not float away!
Spring is Here!
The MMC is busy with dock improvements and fixing this past winter’s damage but don’t worry we will be back up and running in short order!
In Nov. of 2016 PYC took some preventative measures in trying to minimize dock damage due to ice build up with the purchase of 10 de-icers also know as bubblers. Here they are in action
Mid-August saw PYC replace 68 feet of M-Dock which included 6 fingers. This are was one of the worst areas in the marina that was becoming a hazard.
Nexus Docks from Lake Country installed the new section in one day and then it took another day to complete the electrical. All in, close to $70k, now about 1,200 more feet to go!
The PYC Commodores Shenanigan Aug. 5, 6 & 7th. RSVP at the Rusty Anchor ASAP!
Congratulations to Martin and all the rest of PYC sailors who participated in the 2015 Blossom Time Regatta in Kelowna last weekend. Here is a link to the results and a little video.
The Rusty Anchor had it’s membership sign up night and open house May 14th which was a huge success. A big thank you to all who supported and attended this event.
